Aaron Kennedy, CFS
Aaron is President and CEO of Stark Miller Financial Benefits Group. The firm was established in 1967 and has built their solid reputation by working closely with for-profit and non-profit businesses in the areas of employee benefits, qualified retirement plans and successions planning. The firm has been bringing each of their clients the large benefit financial group knowledge and technology with intimate and hand-on client service each investor deserves.
Aaron is a board member of NCHRA as the legislative chair as of 2012. He became a member and board chair to ensure Stark Miller stays on top of the ever changing regulatory environment surrounding the Human Resources and Employee Benefits industry.
Aaron's unique ability to combine his practical business savviness with his knowledge in group financial benefits has made Stark Miller Financial Benefits Group the success they are today.
Adam Miller is a business attorney and the Managing Partner of the Newport Beach based law firm of Miller Miller Menthe LLP. Adam's areas of practice include business litigation and transactional work. Adam's transactional practice focuses on advising business through the every day issues that businesses face. Adam assists businesses with various issues, including setting up and managing the corporation, drafting contracts, resolving client and vendor disputes, large-scale acquisitions, and exit events including the sale of a business. Adam's litigation practice ranges from simple disputes with vendors, to bet-the-company litigations, to federal qui tam actions.
Adam's professional experience prior to Miller Miller Menthe included a clerkship with the Honorable Asher Grunis of the Israeli Supreme Court, and time at the New York bases firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. While at Paul Weiss Adam gained experience doing large scale public and private M&A work, cutting edge high tech trading litigation, large securities class actions, and simple partnership disputes.
Adam received his BA, Suma Cum Laude, from University of California, Los Angeles, and got his J.D. from New York University. Adam now lives in Huntington Beach. As an active member of the community, Adam hosts his own annual Charity Wine Tasting called Uncork for Hope, which benefits Boys Town California, and is also a participant in the CHOC Follies, an annual musical theater production that benefits the Children's Hospital of Orange County. Adam is also on the Board of Governors for the Center Club, the Board of Directors for Boys Town California, and is an active participant at the Jewish Federation and Family Services in Orange County, where Adam serves on the NextGen Board, is the Ignite co-chair, and is also currently serving a six year term on the Jewish Federations National Youth Leadership Cabinet.
Nancy Trujillo is the Chief Financial Officer and a senior management member for the Santa Margarita Water District and oversees the finance/accounting, information technology, and customer relations groups. The District provides water and wastewater treatment services to more than 155,000 residential and commercial customers in south Orange County. Previously, Nancy held executive finance roles with MIG Real Estate and The Irvine Company, and has over 25 years' experience in real estate development, acquisitions, operations, and financial management. She had responsibility for all financial aspects of a multi-billion dollar real estate portfolio and was a key player at both firms in the development and acquisition of over 15 million square feet of commercial properties throughout the United States. Nancy also held prior positions with The Walt Disney Company and PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP.
Nancy received her B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University, Long Beach. She is an active California licensed Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of CPAs. She is a volunteer mentor in the University of California Irvine Executive Mentorship program and also serves as a board member for the Small Business Financial Development Corporation of Orange County (SBFDOC), a non-profit agency focused on the economic development of under served communities in California.
Najla M. DeBow, SPHR
Najla is currently serving in the position of Department Manager, Human Resources at Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). In this capacity Najla is responsible to plan, manage, develop and administer Agency Human Resources programs, policies and service in the areas of Compensation, Employment and Benefits.
Najla provides support to the executive team and each of the Agency's divisions, working closely with management staff responsible for ensuring the coordination of activities and integration of these efforts. Responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating the effectiveness of all Human Resources systems, policies and practices as well as related administrative functions.
Through Najla's thirty year career in Human Resources she has served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Auction.com, and Vice President, Human Resources for St. John Knits, Inc.
Najla received her B.S. in Organizational Management from University La Verne. She is an active member of the Society for Human Resources Management and Professionals in Human Resources Association. In addition, Najla volunteers and has been a passion speaker at the Go Red events for the American Heart Association
